A bright and colourful street racing game.
This racing game pits you against your opponents who are kitted out with their own muscle cars and their improvements. The game is easy to play, even if the handling is a little tricky, and there are extra features that reward you for winning races, such as prize money for upgrades to your car. It is a nice but short game.
Bright And Colourful Settings
One of the things you will notice when you play is just how bright and colourful the settings for the races are. You can see the lights from houses and apartments, streetlights, shop lights and car lights. The environment is very well shaded and beautifully lit.
The Music Is Reminiscent Of Gran Turismo
Blasting around the streets in a muscle car is made all the more fun with the kicking soundtrack. The engine sounds are prominent, but add to the gameplay instead of being a distraction.
Tight Steering At The Front
The steering is just a little too keen, and this may put some people off. It is actually a mark of a slightly lazy programmer, but it isn’t a deal breaker. To put it in real-world context, it is a little like driving a car that is a two-wheel drive powered from the back. It makes turning very keen but manageable.
Turbo Charge Through City Streets
The aim of the game is to race through a city on a laid-out racetrack. The tracks are free of cars and other road debris. It is just you, the tarmac and your competitors. You can use your turbo to make your car kick out a little extra speed and get more from you powerful engine.
It does feel like they have tried to shoehorn a career aspect into the game over just an arcade feeling, but it is no Grid or Gran Turismo. It could have used a little bit of Destruction Derby added into the mix because when you hit other cars it is almost like two wardrobes hitting each other instead of two high-speed metal monsters clashing.
